The Activate Portfolio tier gives startups backed by an AWS Activate Provider, a VC, accelerator, or incubator with a direct relationship with AWS, up to $200,000 in AWS credits. The catch is timing: you need to apply within 12 months of your most recent funding round, and from an AWS account already on the Paid plan. Miss either condition and you're not eligible for this tier.

- Pre-Series B, with your most recent funding round within the last 12 months
- Founded within the last 10 years
- Have a fully functioning company website
- Applying from an AWS account on the Paid plan, the default 6-month Free plan doesn't qualify
- New to AWS Activate credits, or requesting more than you've previously received
Create an AWS Builder ID, then apply for the Activate Portfolio tier using your provider's Organization ID. AWS typically responds within 5 to 10 business days. Credits can be used across 200+ AWS services, including Amazon Bedrock for AI models.
Apply for AWS Activate CreditsYou won't qualify for the Portfolio tier above, but the Activate Founders tier is open to self-funded startups with no provider affiliation: up to $5,000 in credits, starting at $1,000, applied for directly through the same AWS Activate portal.
